Each year, the Theatre of Dare awards scholarships
to Dare County theatre students.

Congratulations to our TWO 2007 scholarship recipients:
O'Anna Rose & Marshall Gray Pugh!
Marshall Gray Pugh is the recipient of the $500 Jackie Christie Memorial Scholarship. He plays a mean clarinet & saxophone, and as a member of the jazz emsemble "Dixie Do-Daz", took first place at the Traditional Jazz Youth Band Festival in Sacramento, CA in 2006. He also took the award for Best Clarinet/Sax at the festival. He successfully auditioned to play the clarinet in the All-District Band Clinic & Concert on the campus of ECU in February 2007. He also penned numerous articles for First Flight's paper, Nighthawk News. Gray will be attending UNC-Greensboro and majoring in Music Education.
O'Anna Rose is the receipient of the $500 Jay DeVore Memorial Scholarship. She is an avid actress, having played such roles as Agent 99 in "Get Smart" and Bloody Mary in "South Pacific". She served as president of the Drama Club at First Flight High School, and directed their production of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" which was performed for the residents at Britthaven. She has also been an intern at the Lost Colony. O'Anna will be attending the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in Manhattan and majoring in Musical Theatre.
